First steps

In 1999, Format established a partnership with OGC (the UK Government's Office of Government Commerce) to produce the first and second editions of the IS Management and Business Change guides, a set of commercially published guidance aimed at helping public sector managers with their procurement projects and general management.

The partnership brought together OGC's long experience of consultancy to the public sector and Format's publishing and design expertise.

Moving on

From the time they were published, the IS Management and Business Change guides were offered for sale online at our website.

Over time we added more and more titles by other publishers to the site, creating a valuable one-stop shop for OGC and related guidance for customers worldwide.

In 2002 we decided to give the bookshop its own site, Books on Business. It continues to grow.

The present

We are now moving into more mainstream business publishing with the Decision Makers series.

The series presents the latest, most authoritative management thinking, easily digestible without dumbing down. Featuring fresh business examples throughout, the series is edited by Nigel Nicholson, professor of Organisational Behaviour at London Business School.
